9-year-old flood victim girl gang-raped in Karachi

In yet another heart-wrenching incident of child sexual abuse, a 9-year-old flood victim girl was gang raped by two unknown men in the posh Clifton area of Karachi.
The girl was raped on the night of Saturday in Block 4 of Clifton, after which the girl was shifted to the hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
The police surgeon confirmed the gang rape of the girl.
“The girl has been fully medically examined, her age is between 8 to 9 years, and the medical examination has confirmed the gang rape of the girl,” police surgeon said.
According to the police surgeon, this girl was living in a camp city set up for flood-affected in Malir area of Karachi.
Earlier on October 14, The Karachi police have arrested a domestic worker for raping a 6-year-old minor girl in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase-7 area of Karachi.
At the time of the incident, the girl and the housekeeper were present at home while the girl’s parents went outside for personal work.
The housekeeper raped the minor girl and escaped in the absence of the girl’s parents, police said.
The police said that, “when the parents reached home, they found girl in unconscious state and immediately reached the police station to report the incident.
According to the information received from the National Police Bureau, a total of 11,160 cases of rape/gang rape were registered in the country during the last 3 years.
