 5 more injured of Peshawar Blast dead, bringing the death toll to 63

Peshawar: Five more injured people of the Mosque Kocha Risaldar Blast were dead at Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), bringing the death toll to 63.

At least 63 people have been martyred and 198 others injured in a suicide attack at Kocha Risaldar Mosque in Peshawar.

A spokesperson for Lady Reading Hospital said 37 people injured in the blast were being treated at LRH. Five of the injured are in critical condition while one has been discharged. 

The atmosphere in the city is still mournful on the second day of the blast. The main markets and bazaars of the city are closed after the announcement made by the traders’ organizations. 

Funeral prayers and burial of the deceased are also going on in different parts of the city. So far 27 people have been buried.

A case of suicide attack on Masjid Kocha Risaldar has been registered while the investigation team has arrested two suspects in the light of evidence. 

Police and CTD investigation team have recorded the statements of injured in the suicide attack. 

Police sources said that the investigation team has examined the videos obtained from CCTV cameras in different areas. 

Witness statements and CCTV videos indicate that the suicide bomber was brought in a rickshaw, along with two other people who facilitated the suicide attack. 

Sketches of the suicide bomber and both facilitators have been completed, and the suspects have been taken into custody.
