5.2 Magnitude earthquake hits Balochistan

QUETTA: 5.2 magnitude earthquake jolted Lasbela and Khuzdar districts of Balochistan province on Friday and destroyed several houses in Khuzdar, the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) confirmed.
According to details, the provincial disaster management authority said that several houses were destroyed in the earthquake in Arangi area of Khuzdar.
The DG PDMA said that Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and Chief Secretary Balochistan have directed immediate action and relief items have been sent to the affected areas.
According to the PDMA, relief supplies include tents, beds, food and medicine.
The DG said that no casualties were reported from the earthquake and the affected area was being monitored effectively.
The center was reported 80 kilometers north of Bela city of Balochistan, according to the US Geological Survey.
