472 people arrested for violating lockdown: Sindh police

According to a police report, Sindh police have arrested 472 people for breaching section 144 on the province’s first day of lockdown.

They also filed at least 72 cases against those detained, the study said. 222 people have been arrested in Karachi alone for breaching the lockdown and 33 cases have been registered against them.

Police detained six people in Mirpurkhas, eight in Sukkur and 236 in Larkana.

The provincial government had declared a 15-day lockdown in Sindh on March 22 to prevent coronavirus from spreading.

The virus has killed six people, and over 800 infected cases have emerged in the country so far.
