COLOMBO: Another group of forty stranded Pakistanis were repatriated to Pakistan via Sri Lankan Airlines flight that left Colombo on Monday.
Second Secretary (Political), Ms. Ayesha Abubakar Fahad was present on behalf of the High Commissioner to see off the departing Pakistanis at Bandaranaike International Airport( BIA), Colombo.

The returning Pakistanis acknowledged efforts of Pakistani High Commission for providing all possible support and assistance during their stay in Sri Lanka in this difficult time.
On Apr 25, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had said Pakistan had enhanced the capacity to bring back 7,000 stranded Pakistanis from abroad every week.
Addressing the US based Pakistanis via video link, he had expressed the confidence that this figure would go up in the coming weeks.
The foreign minister had said that it was the government’s utmost endeavour to bring back all the registered 60,000 stranded Pakistanis before Eid ul Fitr. He had said 10,000 Pakistanis had already been brought back.
