4-year-old girl raped, murdered by uncle in Bannu
In yet another heart-wrenching incident of child sexual abuse, a four-year-old girl was raped and later murdered by her maternal uncle in the Bannu city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The incident took place in Jaman Road area of Bannu city, where a 4-year-old girl was killed after being raped.
The suspect has been taken into custody and is currently being interrogated, police said.
According to the preliminary investigation, the suspect is the maternal uncle of the child.
The body has been shifted to the hospital and further investigation is underway with the suspect.
Reported rape cases in September-October
On September 22, a 12-year-old, minor girl was murdered after being raped multiple times in Zaman Town area of Karachi, police said.
The body of the 12-year-old girl was brought to the medico-legal section of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) where post-mortem examination revealed that the girl was raped multiple times,
The girl’s father told the police that when he returned home from work, he found his daughter’s body hanging from the ceiling, SHO Zaman Town Rizwan Patel said.
Before an above incident, a 10-year-old girl was murdered after being raped in Akhtar Colony area of Karachi.
In another incident, a 12-year-old girl was raped in Korangi at the end of last month.
Data reveals that 1,207 girls and 1,004 boys were victims of exploitation, while this data brings the number of abused children to more than 12 per day.
Despite the hanging of Imran Ali, the man convicted for the rape and murder of six-year-old Zainab Ansari in Kasur back in 2018, incidents of child sexual abuse have not stopped in the country.
