Today marks the 33rd death anniversary of former Pakistani President, Zia-ul-Haq.
Zia-ul-Haq died in crash of C-130 plane near the Pakistani city of Bahawalpur, 531 kilometers south of Pakistani capital Islamabad on August 17, 1988.
The official announcement of Zia-ul-Haq death was made by Ghulam Ishaq Khan through radio and television transmission on 17 August 1988.
His funeral prayers were offered at Shah Faisal Mosque located in Islamabad, on 19 August 1988.
The mystery of his death still exists, several questions raised after the crash still on wait for it’s answers.
Zia-ul-Haq, was a four-star general and the sixth President of Pakistan after declaring martial law in 1977. He served as the head of state from 1978 til 1988.
