2,980 people test COVID-19 positive during last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan soared to 237, 489 on Wednesday morning.

There has been an improvement in the number of recoveries from COVID-19 in Pakistan with figure now reaching 140, 965.

2980 new cases surfaced during the last twenty four hours taking the tally to 237, 489.

These include 83,559 in Punjab, 97,626 in Sindh, 28681 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10919 in Balochistan, 13650 in Islamabad, 1595 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 1419 in Azad Kashmir.

The death toll from the virus has reached 4922 with 83 more deaths reported over the last twenty-four hours. 21,951 corona tests were carried out during this period.

The no of recovered patients is more than the active COVID cases in Pakistan. 140,965 People defeated the virus so far across Pakistan.

Total Active COVID cases in Pakistan are 91,602. Identification of Covid hotspots through TTQ strategy in 30 major cities and timely & effective targeted lockdowns in these areas helped in controlling disease spread thus ensuring public health onset of Eid-ul-Azha demands similar response/health seeking behaviour of people as shown in last 4-6 weeks.
