25 suspects rounded up in Pakistan Stock Exchange terror attack case
KARACHI: Police have carried out raids in different areas and arrested at least 25 suspects in the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) terror attack case.
Police suspects that the four terrorists who were wiped out in the immediate response of security forces much have their facilitators in Karachi who would have provided them residence, food and money for buying the car as well as helped them in reconnaissance of the PSX.
The Counter Terrorism Department, SIU and other institutes have extended the circle of their investigation and started collecting surveillance camera footages of the route the terrorists travelled from so that they could find where the terrorists were staying.
According to initial investigation, the terrorists were staying either in Baldia Town, or Saeedabad or Yousaf Goth. Token of Lyari Expressway has also been recovered from the terrorists which shows that they travelled on Lyari Expressway on Jun 27.
Sources said that the terrorist Salman bought the car from a showroom in Sabzi Mandi for Rs1.5 million. Police have confiscated the CCTV footage from the showroom and arrested its owner.
Police sources said the data recovered from mobile SIMs of the terrorists revealed that they contacted a number in Balochistan five times in a week. They used to remove SIM and battery from mobile phone after talking on it so that their location could not be traced.
Sources said that they came around one and a half week ago in Karachi and carried out the attack through proper planning. Investigation is underway about the weapons recovered from their possession as well.
