2,094 fuel stations involved in smuggling petroleum products

ISLAMABAD: A report about smuggled petroleum products was handed over to the Prime Minister Imran Khan during a meeting which was attended by top civil and military officials.

Around 2,094 petrol pumps have been involved in smuggling of petroleum products because of which the country has suffered losses worth Rs150 billion a year.

According to the PM, the sale of smuggled oil had adversely affected the country’s economy.

However, PM Imran Khan has directed to initiate a crackdown on illegal petroleum outlets along with FIR registration against their owners and imposition of fines on their properties.

He said the money recovered from illegal activities would be spend on welfare of the masses.
