202 doctors, 30 paramedics succumbed to COVID-19 in Pakistan
The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has demanded government to provide Shuhuda compensation package to the families of those doctors who died due to covid-19.
According to PMA, 202 doctors and 30 paramedics have died from the virus. 74 doctors of them belonged to Punjab while 64 were from Sindh.
Moreover, 53 belonged to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while six hailed from Balochistan, three from Azad Kashmir and one doctor from Gilgit-Baltistan.
The total number of healthcare workers who have died from the corona virus include seven gynaecologists, six pathologists and three postgraduate trainees as well.
Around three radiologists, two surgeons and an equal number of cardiologists have also been died.
Earlier, the government announced to give Shahuda compensation package to frontline health professional’s families, who passed away due to Covid-19 while managing patients at the hospitals.
