Police seize 200 kg dead frogs, arrest two suspects

LAHORE: Police have arrested two suspects and recovered 200 kilogram dead frogs from a rickshaw passing through Ravi Bridge.

Police have launched an investigation to find out purpose of carrying frogs in such a large quantity.

According to Express Urdu, personnel of Mujahid squad had established a check post on New Ravi Bridge. Upon sensing it suspicious, the squad signaled the rickshaw to stop. The rickshaw driver tried to speed to flee from the scene, but was forced to pull over.

When the personnel searched the rickshaw they found that about 200 kg dead frogs were loaded on it. The suspects, Prince and Azhar, were taking the frogs to a famous bazaar of the city.

Police said the suspects had for long been involved in the business of supplying dead frogs to markets. Prince and Azhar have been handed over to Shahdara police station and Livestock Department has also been informed about the incident.
