PESHAWAR: Local administration of Peshawar has arrested 20 shopkeepers and sealed a market for non-compliance with the standard operating procedures (SoPs) introduced by the provincial government for opening markets amid lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Spokesperson to the Peshawar deputy commissioner said that the market was sealed on Pashtakhra Road for overcrowding and violation of the government SoPs. He said five shops including Lime Light Store were also sealed on University Road.
The deputy commissioner ensured social distancing outside NADRA Mega Centre on University Road. He appreciated a manager of a shopping mall for implementing the SoPs. Mohammed Ali Asghar said availability of safety masks should be ensured at markets.
