More than 20 shopkeepers were arrested by the Faisalabad police in the localities that were sealed due to spike in the coronavirus cases.

These shopkeepers had continued business but failed to follow instructions of the district. The police had previously punished them by making them stand in the scorching sun for more than half an hour.

Six shopkeepers have reportedly been booked while others have been able to walk free following a warning.

Since June 16, some 25 areas in Faisalabad have been under a smart lockdown. For two weeks the smart lockdown was implemented.

The government has banned people from unnecessarily getting out of their homes.
