During the hearing of the Naqibullah murder case in the anti-terrorism court, two key witnesses deviated from the statement against former SSP Rao Anwar.

Witnesses say statements against Rao Anwar were taken by force. Plaintiff’s lawyer accused Rao Anwar of pressuring witnesses.

Rao Anwar and his team had killed Naqibullah in a fake police encounter in Karachi in January 2018. In the case, 18 policemen including Rao Anwar were named. Several policemen including Rao Anwar have been released on bail.

Police officers Shehzada Jahangir and Rana Asif have taken the position that the first statement was taken from them by force.
