196 aftershocks felt following a powerful earthquake in Western Turkey, Greece
TURKEY: At least 26 people have died and around 700 are injured as a powerful earthquake rattled parts of Turkey and Greece yesterday.
196 aftershocks were also felt, with around 23 of them reached the magnitude 4 after a massive earthquake with a magnitude of 7 on the Richter Scale struck the Aegean Sea.
Turkish health Minister tweeted that, 38 ambulances, two helicopter ambulances, and 35 medical rescue teams were taking part in the rescue operations.
The earthquake was felt across the regions of Aegean and Marmara, including Istanbul in Turkey. Whereas in Greece the earthquake jolted eastern Greek islands and as far as the Greek capital, Athens, and in Bulgaria.
