19 fishermen released from Indian captivity reach Karachi
Karachi: 19 Pakistani fishermen released from Indian captivity have reached Karachi Fisheries.
The fishermen who were released from Indian jails have been imprisoned in India since 2016. A fisherman released from Indian custody has been admitted to Lahore Hospital due to corona.
According to the Chairman Fishermen’s Cooperative Society, there are 95 Pakistani fishermen in Indian jails. Pakistan has so far released 500 Indian fishermen.
It may be recalled that in September this year, Pakistan detained 10 Indian boats and 56 fishermen entering its territory.
The operation was carried out by the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency on the information that foreign boats had entered the waters.
Upon receiving information, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency sent its aircraft for surveillance, after which the plane detained ten Indian boats and 56 fishermen in its territory.
All the detained Indian fishermen were handed over to the police for further legal action.
