18 police officials dismissed in Karak temple attack case

PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has removed 18 police officials including an SHO for their negligence in the incident of setting fire to Hidu temple in Karak.
Confirming the news, Adviser to Chief Minister on Information Kamran Bangash on Thursday said one-year service of 54 police officials was also confiscated.
“Law is equal for everyone and swift justice is the way of the KP government,” he said.
Last month, a mob had set the temple on fire when the government workers tried to work on the project of extension of the land of the temple in Terry area of Karak district.
Huge contingent of police had arrived and controlled the situation.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has also promised to rebuild the shrine while making sure that justice will be served.
