1,200 jobs created in CPEC Phase I, says Asim Bajwa

ISLAMABAD: Chairman CPEC Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa on Wednesday said that 1,200 jobs had been created in China Pakistan Economic Corridor’s Phase-I.

Asim Saleem Bajwa said that he was monitoring each project of the CPEC and his team was also keeping an eye on operational issues.

“The confidence of Chinese investors in CPEC projects has not diminished nor has the work on CPEC stopped or slowed down,” he said adding that Coronavirus pandemic was a big test for the CPEC, which passed.

Gwadar port has a huge impact on the national and local economy, he maintained. However, he said that there were employment problems in the western routes of Balochistan. On security, he said the security of the CPEC projects was better and no project had stopped for that reason.

The chairman CPEC Authority said that most of the problems were faced from across the border while 60% of the Iran-Afghanistan border had been sealed.
