 118 arrested from markets for not getting COVID-19 vaccines

PESHAWAR: Local administration of Peshawar on Tuesday arrested 118 people from different markets and business centers for not getting COVID-19 vaccines.

Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Khalid Mahmood said that a mega crackdown was launched against the people who were not getting COVID-19 vaccine.

118 shops and business centeres, including fast food and restaurants, were sealed and their owners/ managers were arrested for violating coronavirus SOPs by not getting their staff members administered the jab, he said.

The local administration officials inspected Hayatabad, Saddar, Warsak Road, Charsadda Road, Dilla Zak Road, interior city, Gulbahar, University Road and other areas and markets.

The DC directed traders community members to get themselves inoculated against the viral disease as soon as possible, otherwise legal action would be taken against them.
