105 deaths from Covid-19 in past 24 hours, highest since June

According to National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), Pakistan reported 105 new deaths from coronavirus on Tuesday, the highest daily tally ever since June.

After adding Tuesday’s death count, Pakistan’s mortality rate has reached 2.27% with total 9,010 victims killed by the virus.

On provincial level Sindh reported the highest number of deaths with total 58 deaths in the last 24 hours, followed by 30 deaths in Punjab, 12 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two each in Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and one in Balochistan.

During the month of December, Pakistan witnessed a surge in Covid-19 related deaths with so far more than 900 reported deaths. There were also 2,731 fresh cases of Covid-19 reported by NCOC which, according to the experts are alarming indicators.
