104 dead, 61 injured in rain-related incidents in Balochistan: PDMA
At least 100 people have been died and 57 others sustained injuries in rain-related incidents across the Balochistan province, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said.
According to the report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Balochistan, 2 children died in Musakhel and Dera Bugti due to rain on Monday, after which the number of deaths due to rain in the province reached to 104. The number of injured was 61.
The report stated that 40 men, 30 women and 34 children were among those who died in various incidents during the recent rains in the province.
The deaths occurred in Bolan, Quetta, Zhob, Dikki, Khuzdar, Kohlu, Kech, Mastung, Harnai, Qila Saifullah and Sibi.
According to the report, 6063 houses and properties have been damaged in the province so far, out of which 2536 are completely affected while 1417 are partially affected.
Apart from this, 4 different highways covering 565 kilometers have been severely affected in the rains while 712 livestock have been killed due to the rains.
According to the PDMA report, a total of 1,97,930 acres of standing crops, solar plates, tube wells and borings were also damaged due to rains.
